Music Meets Climate Advocacy

For centuries, music has been used as a voice for justice, unity, and change. Climate Voices builds on this tradition, blending traditional Ghanaian Highlife and folk storytelling with contemporary Dutch world fusion to create a new sound that inspires dialogue and collective responsibility for the environment.

Headline artist Atongo Zimba, one of Ghana’s most respected highlife and folk musicians, will lead the performances with his soul-stirring kologo melodies and deep-rooted storytelling.

They will be joined by the internationally acclaimed BOI AKIH, a Netherlands-based ensemble celebrated for their innovative blend of jazz, classical, and world music. BOI AKIH, featuring Niels Brouwer (guitars), Monica Akihary (vocals), Saskia Meijs (viola), and Michael Vatcher (drums), has earned global recognition for pushing musical boundaries and weaving tradition with experimentation.

Together, these artists will deliver climate-themed sets and live improvisations, making music not just an art form but a call to action.

Beyond the Concert Stage

Climate Voices is more than a music tour. Each event will include:

  • 🌍 Collaborative climate-themed performances
  • 🌳 Tree planting exercise in Bolgatanga to symbolize restoration
  • 🎤 Community dialogues and advocacy workshops engage local citizens.
  • 🎥 Multimedia presentations showcasing climate impacts and solutions
  • ✍️ Climate Action Pledge ceremonies, inviting audiences to commit to sustainable practices

A Global Dialogue for Change

In an interview with the events PR, Selase Kpogeh Music has the power to connect hearts and minds across borders. “Through this Ghana–Netherlands musical dialogue, we aim to transform art into action using creativity as a tool to advocate for a more sustainable world.”
